Spironolactone-d3 (SC9420-d3) is the deuterium labeled Spironolactone. Spironolactone (SC9420) is an orally active aldosterone mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist with an IC₅₀ of 24 nM. Spironolactone is also a potent antagonist of androgen receptor with an IC₅₀ of 77 nM. Spironolactone promotes autophagy in podocytes^[1][2][3].

Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs^[1].
