一般描述

新生霉素是一种氨基香豆素抗生素，从多种链霉菌中分离出来。新霉素具有广谱革兰氏阳性活性，已在临床上使用。新生霉素是Topo IIα（细菌DNA促旋酶）的有效抑制剂，并充当GyrB催化的ATPase反应的竞争性抑制剂。

Novobiocin is an aminocoumarin antibiotic isolated from a number of species of Streptomyces. Novobiocin exhibits broad spectrum Gram positive activity and was used clinically. Novobiocin is a potent inhibitor of Topo II α (bacterial DNA gyrase) and acts as a competitive inhibitor of the ATPase reaction catalysed by GyrB.
